Urbana, IL, April 24, 2006 - Scitec, a leading
ISO-9001-certified telephone set manufacturer and VoIP solutions
provider, has received RoHS certification of the company's entire
product line effective immediately. Scitec has complied with
this mandatory requirement well ahead of the 2007 deadlines.
The RoHS directive, which stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment", bans new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants for sale in United States (U.S.) and European Union (EU) markets.
